Brave brave Harry

Beautiful day yesterday. Frosty, clear, sunny and warm in the sun – fab. I had some help to give in finishing off the play area at school but then we could play. Family cycling.

Sam and mum went off on his 10 mile circuit to Haydon bridge, Grindon Hill and down while Haz and I did some serious practising. He can ride fine but, probably after his blow out on the track to Keswick last year he’s been a bit, well a lot cautious about going at any speed. So, braking practice! Really worthwhile – we went from crawling down slopes at 4mph in a state of anxiety with the brakes dragging to freewheeling down from Stonecroft at 20mph going “wheeeeeee”. Hopefully we’ll get some consolidation in half term this next week and be well set up for the summer.
